khris davis

Khris Davis is an Academy Baron alum. Davis played for the Barons in 2008.

Davis attended Cal State Fullerton from 2007-2009 and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the seventh round of the 2009 draft. He made his Major League debut in 2013 for the Brewers. Davis currently plays left field for the Oakland A’s and led the MLB in home runs in 2018.


Dillon Tate

Dillon Tate played with the Barons during the summer of 2013 and was selected fourth overall by the Texas Rangers in the 2015 draft. Tate played his collegiate ball at UC Santa Barbara. He pitched with the USA Collegiate National Team during the summer following his sophomore season (2013), posting a .79 ERA with three saves. Tate was named an All-American his junior year.

In 2016 Tate was traded to the New York Yankees in a trade that involved 9-time all-star Carlos Beltran. In 2017 he was traded again to the Baltimore Orioles for all-star closer Zach Britton. After the trade to Baltimore, Tate was added to their 40 man roster. Dillon currently plays for the Double-A Bowie Baysox in the Eastern League. Tate, a Claremont, Calif. native, graduated from Claremont High School in 2012.

Solomon Bates

Soloman Bates played with the Barons during the summer of 2017 and was selected in the 8th round by the San Francisco Giants. Bates played his college career at nearby USC. Bates is currently with Class-A affiliate Augusta GreenJackets in the South Atlantic League.
