The Academy Barons faced another loss this past Sunday (June 17th) to the Conejo Oaks, with an ending score of 9-1.

Starting the game off strong with offense, Trent Anderson (#1) hits a single in the first inning, soon followed by Garrett Ouellette’s (#27) double, allowing Anderson to score the first run for the Barons. This strong start continued into the second inning with Hunter Lewis (#20) battling hard at the plate with every swing. Defensively, Spencer Hereford (#10), leading pitcher for the Barons, pitches a great four innings, keeping the game close and only allowing only two of the 10 runs scored by the Oaks.

Upon reaching the top of the fifth inning, the Barons began to struggle offensively and defensively as pitching strength declined and five runs were scored by the Oaks, widening the score gap to 7-1. Although the Barons continued to struggle at the plate, Gavin Stroud (#23) helped pick up the team with great pitching in the sixth inning, preventing any runs from being scored.

Stay tuned tonight for the Barons game against the San Luis Obispo Blues at 6pm!
