Bats Come Alive in Win Over Catch

In the first game of a three game series, the Barons beat the So Cal Catch by a score of 14-6.

JJ Stephens got the start for the Barons last night and pitched .33 innings allowing two hits and two runs. Stephens exited the game early after re-aggravating an injury to his pitching hand. Sebastian Sanchez followed Stephens and was awarded the win in his performance. Sanchez went 4.67 innings allowing just four hits and one earned run. Aaron Soto was the third pitcher from the Barons’ bullpen going 2.67 innings giving up two hits and three earned runs. Tyler Tungate pitched the final 1.3 innings of the game allowing one hit and no runs.

The Baron’s generated their runs from clutch hitting and just a few swings of the bat. Randy Rubio first put the Barons on the board with a grand slam in the 3rd inning. It was Rubio’s third homer of the season and he finished the game 2-3 with 6 RBIs. Garrett Ouellette also hit a bomb in the game while going 3-5 with 3 RBIs. The Barons tallied up 12 hits in total.

The Barons and the Catch will play again at 4:30 pm at Biola University on Saturday.
