Barons Drop Last Game to Riptide

In their final game against the Riptide, the Barons fell in a close one 4-0.

Tyler Witt was the starter and shut down the Riptide from the start. Despite the loss Witt was locked in from the start.

“I wanted to hit the strike zone,” Witt said. ” I honestly just pitched and saw what happened at the end of innings.”

Witt went 5.0 innings only allowing five hits and two runs. Tungate was the first reliever off the bench and pitched 1.0 innings allowing two hits and two runs. Aaron Soto was the final pitcher for the Barons going 2.0 innings and didn’t allow a run or a hit.

Randy Rubio was the leading hitter for the Barons in the loss going 2-3. Rubio raised his batting average to .387 and fifth in the CCL.
