Barons Drop Game 2

In the second game of a three game road series against the San Luis Obispo Blues, the Barons lost a tough one by a score of 4-2.

Solomon Bates received the start for the Barons and pitched superb game through five innings but it was the sixth inning that hurt Bates. Bates was throwing a shutout but some unlucky breaks resulted in a four run inning for the Blues and ended Bates’ day. Bates allowed seven hits and four runs, three of them earned. Aaron Soto entered the game and pitched 1.67 innings and only allowed one hit. Tyshaun Chapman pitched against one batter and struck him out on three pitches.

For the second straight game, the Barons bats were not loud. The team only tallied up six hits that resulted in their two runs. Randy Rubio and Hunter Allen led the way each going 2-4 in the game.

The Barons will play game 3 against the Blues on Sunday at 1 p.m.
