Barons Fall to Riptide 5-4
The Barons dropped the first game of a three game series against the OC Riptide 5-4.
In a game that has major implications on the CCL South Standings, the Barons let a victory slip through their fingers in the final moments.
Matt Mogollon got the nod last night and pitched a gem for the third straight time. Mogollon pitched 5.0 innings only allowing five hits and one earned run. Mogollon has allowed just three runs total in his last three starts. Blair Frederick was the first pitcher called from the bullpen going 2.0 innings and allowing just one hit but two earned runs. Aaron Soto followed pitching 1.0 inning allowing one hit and one run. Wesley Albert was the final pitcher for the Barons and like Soto pitched 1.0 inning allowing one hit and one run.
The Barons tallied nine hits total in the game. Denzl Chapman continued his hot hitting going 2-5 with an RBI. Dailin Lee also delivered going 2-3 with an RBI and Javier Garcia got the job done from the plate going 2-4 with an RBI as well.
The Barons will play the Riptide again on Saturday at the Youth Academy. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
