Barons Down Legends 11-10; Extend Win Streak to 4

The Barons defeated the Long Beach Legends today by a score of 11-10. The Barons have now won six out of their last seven matches and extend their win streak to four.

Josh Stephens received the start for the Barons. He pitched 2.6 innings and allowed 6 runs (4 of which were earned runs) before being pulled. Blair Frederick came in for relief and pitched 2.3 innings allowing one hit and zero earned runs; although the Legends did score two runs on Barons’ errors. Wesley Albert was the final Barons’ pitcher going 3.0 innings allowing four hits and two runs.

Denzl Chapman was a man on a mission for the Barons from the plate. Chapman went 3-5 with 3 RBIs. Dailin Lee joined in on the fun going 3-3 with 2 RBIs. Angel Mora, who recently committed to the Academy of Arts University for baseball, continued his hot streak going 2-5 with 2 RBIs.

The Barons rallied multiple times in the game to complete their comeback. After leading 3-1 and giving up a six run 3rd inning, the Barons trailed 7-3. It took a 4-run inning to comeback and even the game up. The Barons trailed once again 8-7 and used another 4-run inning to take the lead for good.

The Barons play the Legends again tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Long Beach City College.
