The Academy Barons picked up their first win in the season after defeating the Conejo Oaks for the second straight game by a score of 10-5.

Tyshaun Chapman followed Witt on the mound and was actually given the win for the game. Chapman pitched 4.3 innings only allowing four hits, two runs and fanned three Oaks’ batters. The Bats came alive in a big way for the Barons in Thursday’s action. For the second straight game the Barons tallied ten hits and received big performances from multiple people. Solomon Bates, who normally pitches for the Barons, started as the DH against the Oaks and went 4-4 with one RBI. However, it was Bruce Martin who delivered the biggest performance for the Barons going 2-3, 7 RBIs and crushed a grand slam in the 5th inning.

The Barons have the day off Friday but will have a double header against the Arroyo Seco Saints at home starting at 12 p.m.
