Barons Split Doubleheader Against Catch

The Barons split a doubleheader with the So Cal Catch on the road Saturday, winning the first game, 4-3, and losing the second game, 4-3.

In the first contest, starting pitcher Henry Omana threw 5.2 innings with four strikeouts before being relieved by Reece Buska for 1.1 innings in a game that was only seven innings.

Designated hitter Cody Den Beste went 1×3 with a double and third baseman Trent Hammond went 1×2 with a double and one RBI.

After the quick turn around, Tyler Tungate took the bump, pitching 4.0 innings and collecting two strikeouts. Joseph Mercado threw 3.0 innings in relief and gathered four strikeouts. Oscar Muñoz threw the final inning without allowing a hit.

Left fielder James Stea went 2×5, and shortstop Sam Shaikin went 2×4 with one RBI. Catcher Jonah Hargroves had the Barons only extra base hit, going 1×3 with a double.

The Barons return home on Sunday to face the So Cal Catch for the final time this season.
