Barons Edge Legends in Walk-Off Win

The Barons won in walk-off fashion Wednesday night, defeating the Long Beach Legends, 4-3.

Starting pitcher Wesley Albert pitched 4.1 innings and collected four strikeouts. Joseph Mercado threw 4.0 scoreless innings in relief and struck out two. Oscar Muñoz earned the win and the final two outs for the Barons.

The hero of the game was center fielder James Stea (2×4) who hit a walk off single to score pinch runner Keyon Allen and end the game. Shortstop Sam Shaikin (2×4) hit two doubles.

The Barons play the Legends in Long Beach on Thursday for the final time this season. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
