Barons Beat Oaks For Fourth Straight Win

The Barons won their fourth consecutive game on Sunday with a 7-4 victory over the Conejo Oaks at the Academy.

Starting pitcher Kyle Murray earned his third win of the season after throwing 5.0 innings and allowing just one run with three strikeouts. A crew of pitchers were used in relief starting with Travis Bonner who threw 1.0 scoreless inning. Gary Smith and Joseph Mercado each threw a portion of the seventh inning and Oscar Muñoz struck out two during the eighth inning. Reece Buska earned his seventh save of the season after closing out the game in the ninth.

Left fielder Ernie De La Trinidad went 2×4 with a double and three RBI. Third baseman Trent Hammond went 3×4 with a double and right fielder Cody Den Beste went 2×3 with two RBI. Shortstop Zack Kolakowski also got in on the action going 1×3 with one RBI.

Six Barons will take the field for the California Collegiate League (CCL) All-Star Game which takes place at the Academy on Wednesday. The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
