Barons Win in Santa Barbara

In the only scheduled contest between the Academy and the Santa Barbara Foresters this season, the Barons (18-7) defeated the Foresters (16-11-1) on the road Thursday evening, 4-2.

Starting RHP Henry Omana threw 6.0 innings for the Barons allowing just one run on three hits, while gathering two strikeouts. In relief, RHP Oscar Muñoz tossed 2.0 scoreless innings and picked up three strikeouts. RHP Reece Buska earned his fifth save of the season after closing things out in the ninth.

The Barons scored three times in the first inning and once more in the fourth. Their offense was led by left fielder James Stea who went 3×5 with a triple. Right fielder Cody Den Beste and second baseman Zack Kolakowski added to the charge with two hits a piece.

The Barons continue their road trip on Friday when they visit the San Luis Obispo Blues (16-12) at 6 p.m.
