Barons Come Up Short to Catch

The Barons (14-4, 9-4) lost a league matchup against the So Cal Catch on Saturday night, 7-5, ending their six-game winning streak.

RHP Sebastian Sanchez started the game for the Barons, tossing four innings and giving up one run while collecting three punch outs, lowering his ERA to 3.72. The Barons bullpen allowed six runs on eight hits and five walks.

First baseman Martin Teague continued his hot streak going 2×5 with two solo home runs. Teague is now on a 10-game hit streak and has 12 multi-hit games on the season. Right fielder Cody Den Beste went 2×3 with a solo home run and two walks. Center fielder Ernie De La Trinidad went 1×5 with an RBI triple, extending his hit streak to 17 games.

The Academy travels to Biola University on Sunday to face the Catch (12-8, 6-6) in the final of their two-game set. The first pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
