Barons Avenge Loss To Oaks

The Barons (8-2, 3-2) avenged their previous loss to the Conejo Oaks, defeating them 12-6 in Thousand Oaks on Monday.

Barons starting pitcher Kyle Murray threw 3.2 innings, collecting three strikeouts over that time. Joseph Mercado followed and pitched 4.1 innings, striking out seven and earning the win. Reece Buska closed the game throwing the final inning for the Barons.

The Compton squad scored in each of the first five innings in route to scoring 12 runs off of 13 hits. First baseman Martin Teague went 3×4 and knocked in three runs making him the team leader in RBIs with 15. Second baseman Adonis Morrison showed some pop going 3×5 with two doubles and two RBIs. Catcher Jonah Hargroves got in on the action going 2×4 with a double and one RBI. Left fielder Ernie De La Trinidad has recorded a hit in each game this season, going 2×5 with a triple and a double in this one. Shortstop Zack Kolakowski picked up two RBIs while going 1×5 on the night.

The squad will take on the Long Beach Legends for the first time this season on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
