Barons Wrap Up Non-League Play With Win

The Barons wrapped up their non-league play on Saturday night with a 7-6 win over the Orange County Surf at the Academy.

Starting pitcher Ryan Hare began the day with six strikeouts over four innings of work. He was followed by Wesley Albert who earned the win, throwing two innings and collecting three strikeouts. Josh Bravin got the save for the Barons after throwing a hitless 1.1 innings with one strikeout.

The Academy scored three runs in the first inning and four in the fifth. Outfielder Tyler Williams had two RBIs in his debut with the Barons, going 1×2 with a triple on the night. Jonah Hargroves also collected two RBIs going 1×4 with a double.

The Compton squad will return to the field on Monday when the team travels to Sparky Anderson Field to take on the Conejo Oaks at 5 p.m.
