Barons Bats Deliver Another Win

The Barons continued their impressive start to the season beating the Solana Beach Cardinals, 20-2, Saturday night at the Academy.

Kyle Murray started on the mound for the Barons allowing only one run over four innings of work. The winning pitcher was reliever Oscar Muñoz who tossed three innings. The tandem of pitchers for the Barons allowed just five hits on the night.

The Barons stayed busy at the plate tallying 17 hits to score their 20 runs, including a nine-run fifth inning in which the Barons batted around. Shortstop Zack Kolakowski went 3×5 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs. DH Martin Teague went 2×5 with two doubles and finished the game with four RBIs. Outfielder Ernie De La Trinidad continued his hot streak going 2×3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Second baseman Jaime Estrada went 2×2 with three walks and scored three times for the Barons. Rightfielder Jonah Dean-Hargroves drove in two runs with a triple, and first baseman Aaron Cisneros went 2×5 with an RBI triple.

Before the start of the game on Saturday, Academy players within the Dodgers RBI program joined the Barons on the field for the national anthem. Afterward, the Barons presented each child with a signed ball.

The Barons hit the road Sunday for the first time this season visiting the Conejo Oaks in their first league match up. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
