Barons Take Set Finale Against 22’s

The Barons took the final game a two-game against the Garden Grove 22’s on Friday night at the Academy, 6-1.

Barons starting pitcher Sebastian Sanchez put up a strong performance, earning the win after pitching five innings, allowing no earned runs, and striking out two. Relievers Jesus Gonzalez and Joseph Mercado followed and closed the game for the Barons throwing a combined four shutout innings while collecting five strikeouts respectively.

The offensive charge was led once again by outfielder Ernie De La Trinidad who hit a solo shot in the third inning, finishing the night going 5×6. De La Trinidad has gathered multiple hits in each game thus far this season. First baseman Martin Teague also went deep with a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Shortstop Sam Shaikin got in on the action, going 2×4 with an RBI double. First baseman Aaron Cisneros went 2×4 with an RBI double to knock in the Barons final run in the eighth inning.

The Barons take the field again at 6 p.m. on Saturday as they are set to host the Solana Beach Cardinals.
