Strong Bats Give Barons Win

The Barons opened the first of a two-game set against the Garden Grove 22’s in demanding fashion, winning 15-5 on Thursday night at the Academy.

Starting left-handed pitcher Ryan Paramo threw just 2.1 innings, but reliever Travis Bonner followed Paramo’s performance by pitching 3.2 scoreless innings and striking out five while earning his first win of the season.

The Barons were busy at the dish, scoring 15 runs on 13 hits. Outfielder Ernie De La Trinidad continued his hot streak going 2×4 with two RBIs. Reigning California Collegiate League home run champion first baseman Aaron Cisneros knocked his first ball out of the park while going 2×4 on the night. Second baseman Jaime Estrada also joined in going 2×2 with a triple and three RBIs. A total of nine Barons recorded a hit in the game.

The Barons host game two of the set Friday night at 6 p.m.
